When nature calls my eyelids
As a DSL Technician for the local phone company in the southeastern United States, I sometimes encounter long hold times when I call into the installer line. The installer line is just that. It is a dedicated line that I call into to get technical assistance when I am on the field such as line tests, port verifications, etc. Well, if there is an e-mail outage, internet outage, port verification tool outage, the call queue goes through the roof which now means I have to sit on hold for sometimes up to as much as beyond an hour. If I am on hold in a nice comfy couch or chair, or out under a tree at the customer’s NID (Network Interface Device) which is usually attached to the side of their house, I might grab some sleep. So yes, I can relate to the brother up top. LOL!!!
